You've gone from an average citezen to one of the strongest men in the world...a soldier who has sacraficed his life for his country. Our country would not be the same without you. History
History is laying out all the chaos of the war. The author made it like a list in a way, so the reader understands how much trouble there was. All the conflicts with china and the U.S. what happens in the end? People fled overseas...nothing was resolved.

A dubious crusade
A dubious crusade is a doubtful or uncertain agression. This relates to the Vietnam because many people died and Americans started to lose trust in the government and protest against the war. This will relate to the rest of the unit because it tell us the background of the war, how the people felt, and how much did the war effect us and vietnam.

Korean War facts
Soviet troops occupied Korea north of the 38th parallel. American forces then took control of the line.
Because the the north korean forces crossed this likne in june of 1950, the conflict was known as the korean war.
MacArthur wanted to pursue the enemy into north korea, in hopes the invasion might lead to a reunion of the two koreas. The chinese warned them to stop.
Chinese leaders warned if any further advance would take place they would enter war. The UN forces pushed anyway.
On november 25, 1950 hundereds of thousands of chinese communist troops attacked in human waves across the yalu river into north korea. they droe UN troops back to south Korea.
MacAruther was fired by Truman. Truman viewed his public criticism of his orders as undermining civilian control of the military.
A new president was chosen in 1952. General dwight d. eisenhower. He agreed to compramise to end war. but he secretyly was ready to use nuclear weapons and carry war into china.
A cease fire ended the fighting in july 1953. The two koreas were left more or less where they had been in 1950 with a border near the 38th parell.
Joseph Mcarthy (senetor from WI) used the korean war to fan americans fears of communism.

Has MLK's dream been realized?
The stats of enrolment in schools and other education charts the results were surprising. More blacks are enrolling in schools, but there are more african american dropouts than white. The race with the highest drop outs are the hispanics and that goes for a lot of other catagories. 28/14/11 is the order of hispanics to blacks to white drop outs. School enrollment by race is 55/59/49. That is white/black/hispanic. MLK would not find this equal but in some catagories the smaller races are enrolling more. It seems though that for the hispanics it's decreasing. in 1980 more hispanics enrolled. For whites and blacks both have increased unlike the hispanics. When martin luther king jr. said everyone should be equal he mean whites, blacks, and hispanics. More are populating the U.S. so it's important that they get an education to.
